DAY 1 – VILNIUS
PRIVATE TRANSFER FROM VILNIUS AIRPORT TO YOUR HOTEL IN VILNIUS OLD TOWN.
Our driver will meet you at the airport (he will have a sign with your name on it) and drive you to your hotel in Vilnius.
DAY 2 – VILNIUS
WALKING TOUR OF VILNIUS WITH PRIVATE GUIDE (3 HOURS)
Our English speaking guide will meet you in your hotel reception and take you for a 3 hour privately guided walking tour of Vilnius. This is a great way to get your bearings on your first day and see all the major sights of the city, making deciding what to visit and see in more detail a lot easier. If you like to try the local food where the locals eat – we recommend you ask your guide to finish your tour at an authentic Lithuanian restaurant where the food is delicious and good value for money. If you don’t fancy walking for 3 hours, you are very welcome to stop at one of the many cafes in the old town and chat with your guide about life in Lithuania, what to see etc and pick up some local tips. This ‘stopping time’ is part of your 3 hours so make the most of their company and local knowledge!
DAY 3 – VILNIUS
TRAKAI & RUMSISKES MUSEUM PRIVATE DAY TRIP
Privately guided day trip to Trakai Castle and Rumsiskes open – air museum.
10.00 Pick up from your hotel by our friendly English speaking driver.
10.30 Approximate arrival to Trakai.
Trakai Island Castle is an island castle located in Trakai on an island in Lake Galve. The castle is sometimes referred to as “Little Marienburg”. The construction of the stone castle was begun in the 14th century by Kestutis, and around 1409 major works were completed by his son Vytautas the Great, who died in this castle in 1430. Trakai was one of the main centres of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the castle held great strategic importance.
In Trakai Castle museum you will see some of Lithuania’s most interesting archeological artifacts, religious objects, coins, and finds preserved from excavation of the castle grounds.
Lunch in a local restaurant (payable locally).
13.00 Trip continues to Rumsiskes Open Air Museum.
14.00 Approximate arrival to Rumsiskes.
The Open Air Museum of Lithuania in Rumsiskes (Kaisiadorys District) is an outdoor museum including dwelling houses, farmstead buildings and folk art monuments transferred from all ethnographic regions of Lithuania; Aukstaitija, Zemaitija, Suvalkija and Dzukija, and reassembled here in this beautiful location near Kaunas. Some of the buildings were constructed 200 years ago. The farmsteads show fences, draw-wells, and gardens, along with restored household articles and furniture, cloths, kitchen utensils and tools typical to one or other period. The museum also houses active expositions where weavers, wood carvers, potters and other craftsmen work.

DAY 4 – ANYKSCIAI
VILNIUS TO ANYKSCIAI (VIA TREETOP WALK) PRIVATE TRANSFER
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Anyksciai. On the way, you will stop for a visit at the Treetop Walk; an enjoyable different way to experience the nature and landscape of Lithuania.
DAYS 5 ANYKSCIAI
DAYS AT LEISURE TO ENJOY SPA TREATMENTS AT THE HOTEL OR EXPLORE THE AREA.
Anyksciai is a lovely rural city in Lithuania. Beautiful nature surrounds the city and there are many activities to do and sights to see. Staying at our excellent contemporary spa hotel, you can enjoy as many spa treatments as you wish, relax in the pool and sauna, eat delicious local grown food, relax and unwind. Take a bike from the hotel and explore the area on the excellent cycle paths, visit the ethnographic horse museum, the narrow gauge railway, summer toboggan, rope park, upside down house, river beaches, treetop walk, read a good book, enjoy a local meal in a quaint restaurant or visit the Angel Museum… all of these make Anyksciai one of our favourite places to retreat to for the weekend!
DAY 6 – END OF THE TOUR
ANYKSCIAI TO VILNIUS AIRPORT PRIVATE TRANSFER
Our driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Anyksciai and drive you to Vilnius airport (or you could continue your tour onto Riga perhaps).
